Somehow, Karen had secretly organized everything and left me with the last page to turn in. Regardless of this embarrassing situation (which Charles will not let me forget), I am grateful to you for the quiet but very efficient job you’ve done this year. Thank you too, Geneva, for keeping us financially secure. Money Bags Bryant has spent a mercenary year with her green thumb eagerly collecting, counting and depositing our money. She didn't win the Miss Merry Christmas Title. It was the Ebenezer Scrooge Award. I don’t know whether to congratulate Sandra or award myself the purple heart. Sandra, I hope you know that your section consumed hundreds of feet of film, so I hope you didn’t mind eliminating the individual portraits of the wasps that hover over the football field. How come you’re not allergic to film? Speaking of photography, little Miss Homemakei, Sweet Charlotte, the epitomy of goodness, what devilish subconscious urge compelled you to use micro-snaps for the faculty portraits? Miraculously you completed it. With chemistry, algebra, English, homemaking, etc., I don’t know how you found time for your section. Lucky for you, Gary was around. Gary, did you list tutoring and polywater as Senior Activities? Of the Seniors, last, but certainly not least, is Barbara. Don’t get choked up, but what did you say to the cats outside your window? ‘‘This is a night of love! It’s a good thing all the staff wasn’t as sentimental as you. or we’d be selling Kleenex instead of plastic covers. Seniors you have done a great job this year. Remember what a sorry group you were last year? I’m certainly proud that you’ve come through better than any staff I’ve had. You even got along with the Juniors! For the first time in many years this year’s Juniors have been exceptional. I decline to say in what, but exceptional. Lee Ann managed to get her section in after discovering it was necessary to use photographs in an annual - just here and there. And John found out that the photographer takes pictures and gaily gathers organization listings and types them all onto one fourth page. Such a Bryl Cream Boy! It was reassuring to see the close relationships many of our staff members had. (As you may have noticed, John was close to everyone. Warrior candidate! Hmmmm?) Ad Section Anna leaned heavily upon him (even more than Karen and Geneva) for the hundreds of ad pictures he faithfully took - U-Name-lt, DeMolay, Tripoli. By the way Anna, gazing upon your layouts, 1 often had the feeling that hundreds of Kool-Aid covered termites had escaped from your plaid lunch box and run all over the ad section. I hope their tracks turn out well in print. Speaking of hand printed layouts. Miss Lawson, I wanted to inquire about Mike Yust being in the football, basketball, wrestling, track, GAA, and pep club sections. Also, I hope that you enjoyed working with my snaps of Homecoming. Barbara did! And you Rosemary, I wish you and Gary would stop impaling all the annual snapshots on the bulletin board and the undersides of desks. Some people could take that as a personal affront. As the final addition i to the scintillating social atmosphere of Ding Dong Annual, one could not forget Charles with his soul lifting smile which has been a daily inspiration to us all. Remember how happy you were when you had to have your typewriter repaired? Almost as happy as when LeeAnn brought her chocolate chip cookies. As an annual staff, this mad group has worked exceedingly well together. By some mysterious process you have put the annual together, rather calmly too. except for a slight miscounting of the pages, near loss of some Senior portraits, Sandra and her eggs, cheerleading chevrons, pep club, Ruth and Mary, stolen chocolate chip cookies, lost contracts, lovely homecoming snaps, me and several other natural tragedies. P.S. Take care of the camera. I’m going to miss you all. Sincerely, DEAR YOURS TRULY, Compliments of Seneca Lumber Company Felt's Fina Station Seneca, Missouri A real Gasser!
