We, the Class of ' 81, have been fortunate enough to have such a person as our friend and advisor throughout these four years of high school: in the fun times like building floats; in the more serious times like arranging the prom; and, most important of all, in the classroom. She has laughed with us, taught us, and helped us through these years with incredible patience and concern. For these and many more reasons, we affectionately dedicate this book to you, MRS. SHARON LORE! X3ai EXI8T8 UNDER 8ENECA ' 9 BIG TOP! xiO-TEc ( X Life under the Big Top at Seneca, at the Tech School and at Vo-Ag is never dull. I stayed with my pen pal Cecillia and her family. They live in a small fishing town called Simrishhamn on the Baltic Sea. I really enjoyed my trip. I met many new friends and had many good ex- periences as well as bad. The third Swede Katrina Carlson X .) BENGT BRINGS A LITTLE BIT OF SWEDEN Hi. Bobcats! β will in a few sentences try to express how grateful I am have had a great year here in the USA. The Trapp family, whom I stayed with, have been super nice and understanding ever since they picked me up at the airport. They have put up with my weird habits for a whole year which I don ' t think too many families would be able to. I ' d also like to thank all of you at Seneca for all the fun I have had with you. I ' m looking for- ward to the day when I can come back and see you again. Take it easy and I ' ll see you soon! Bengt Norden w L Hi, There! It sure has been nice to spend this y ear here at Seneca, and I ' ve tried to live it up. I know I won ' t ever forget all the fun I ' ve had here and all the new things I ' ve learned. When I first came to Seneca, I was really scared. I didn ' t know what it would be like to be here, but I found a whole bunch of wonderful people who have been so nice and understanding to me. I ' ll be back β and hopefully I ' ll see you all again! Keep it going, Bobcats! Under the leadership of their advisor, Mr. Travis, and their co-captains Terri Quigley and Brenda f cConnell, the Cadettes have put in many, many hours of practice. Their performance is aided by such things as high spirits, flags, banners, smiles, silks, rifles and their advisor. Miss Rapp. They perform at basketball and football games, wrestling matches, pep assemblies, and parades. The Color Guard is divided into three groups. The first two groups, rifles and A-line, are led by Kim McDonald. The rifles perform with rifles, and the A-line performs with clothes lines β no, not really. The A-line carries the school ' s banners, swords, and the American Flag. The last group, the Silks, perform with large blue and white silk flags and are under the direction of Diane McGee. The Color Guard does a great job in all they attempt, and Seneca is grateful to them for coloring our world. Always there with a quick smile, laugh, song, or routine are the Seneca Majorettes. Characterized by high-held heads and batons, the Ma- jorettes set a good example to others to also hold their heads high for Seneca. They can be seen perform- ing at wrestling matches, football and basketball games, parades, and pep assemblies. Under the direction of advisor Mrs. Newsham, Captain Krystal Turner, and Assistant Cap- tain Leslie Carlson, the Majorettes did very well this year. They received two 2nd place victories and one 3rd place victory in the three competi- tions they entered. Besides spending many hours practicing and performing, the Ma- jorettes devote much time to money-making activities. They are proud of the fact that they personally have worked for and earned most of the uniforms they wear.
