We wish to thank you. i Q-fa.f,-44,5 WSometimes I sit and thin , sometimes I just sit MEMORIES MADE HERE One day in late August, 27 puzzled freshmen entered good ol' Seneca High for the first time. At our first class meeting we elected the following officers: President-Betty Burton, Vice President-Janice Johnson .Secretary-Mary Hoelker, and Treasurer-Michael Boland. Mrs. O'Shaughnessy piloted our class through the perils of our first year. The highlights of initiation night were visits from Harry and Margaret Truman, Johnny Ray, and a star hula dancer. Our first money making project of our hmm school career was our class dance which was held in January. Summer vacation passed quickly and we returned as Bcphomores--our ngreen froshien days were over. Officers were elected as follows: President-Betty Abbey, Vice President-Betty Brockway, Secretary-Donald Severson, and Treasurer-Robert Helgerson. we selected Miss Mezera as our advisor. This year it was our turn to put the freshmen through their paces at initiation. Our last midwinter dance, featuring Hank and his Night Owls, was such a success that we decided to have a repeat performance. After a leisurely vacation we reached the third rung on our high school ladder. Our class leaders for the Year were: President-Janice Johnson, Vice President-Mary Hoelker, Secretary-Betty Burton, and Treasurer-Loyde Beers. Mrs. Doll and Mr. Vidmar guided our class this year. This is the year in which we learned who founded Georgia --James Oglethorpe. There was much excitement when we finally recieved our ringa Gay Paree, with its Eiffel Tower and sidewalk cafes, was the theme of cur prom. Robert Allan and Joan Benoy were King and Queen. In May we sponsored the Junior-Senior Banquet at Geisler's Blue Heaven. All the anticipation of being a senior was now over Our senior leaders were elected. Mrs. Doll and Mr. Webster were chosen as advisors Mr. Vidmar was unanimously chosen as honorary advisor. We started this year's activities by going to Ellickson's in La Crosse to have our pictures taken. On December 28 our class held Seneca's first Snmdlake over which Arlen Anderson and Phyllis Kane reigned as King and Queen Baccalaureate services were held on May 13 and on May 18 we were graduated. Although the class of '56 is sad about leaving all their friends and good times at Seneca High, they look forward to new interests and activities.
