ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS MR. MOCK AND DR. HARVEY Troubleshooters -the one word that describes the assistant principals. We do anything and everything, says C. W. Bill Mock, the morning assistant principal. Dr. Harvey, the new afternoon assistant principal handles the curricular problems while Mr. Mock handles the faculty problems among other administrative roles. Both assistant principals are competently equipped for their roles. Mr. Mock is a graduate of Stetson University where he received his Bachelor's Degree in history and the University of South Florida where he received both Cer- tification of Guidance and Certification of Administration Degrees. He is also the current president of the Seminole Kiwanis Club. Dr. Shelby Harvey received her Doctoral Degree in Education at Florida State University. She taught English at Gibbs High School, was the dean of girls at Tyr- one Middle School and the assistant principal at Safety Harbor Middle School before coming to Seminole High School this year. Apparently, the move was a happy one. I think Seminole is a terrific school. The administration is great to work with, and as a whole, the students are very friendly and very supportiveof the school. 244 Admi PRINCIPAL ROBERT KALACH Seminole High School has a new principal. Mr. Fred Rozelle, principal here since 1970, was appointed to the Pinellas County School Board as Area 2 Super- intendent at the end of the 1978-1979 school year. Replacing him is Robert Cowboy Bob Kalach, a huntin' and fishin' man, the previous morning assist- ant principal at Seminole High School. Mr. Kalach is a long time resident of the St. Petersburg area. He went to St. Petersburg Iunior College where he received his Associate of Arts Degree and the University of Florida where he received his Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree in Education. Mr. Kalach has worked in many areas of education. Before Seminole High School, he taught Social Studies at Madiera Beach Middle School and was the dean at Pinellas Park Middle School. In 1969 Mr. Kalach was the dean of boys here at Seminole High School and was promoted to assistant principal the following year. Seminole High School is a fantastic school - certainly the best in the county. I couldn't be more fortunate than to be right where I am. Seminole is the classic school - well rounded with a nice community. I am the envy of the county. Thus far, Mr. Kalach has done a fine job as principal and everyone at Seminole High School wishes him the best for the years to come. 'yi ---- nistration . rm! fs X i in lv S .QW-

DEAN S The deans' job is often not a pleas- ant one. Yet, if any serious problems arise, Mr. Dunn, Mrs. Kimball, Mr. Crosby or Ms. Staten can profi- ,,,,A.,,, ciently handle them, making a stu dent's school day much more enjoya ble. Clockwise top right: Mr. Steven Crosby!Mr. Willis Dunnftvts. Sadie Staten. 246 Administration . .. 4nn..... LIFESTYLES: MRS. EILEEN KIMBALL The dean of girls, Ms. Kimball, likes the supportive commu- nity of Seminole: she feels that it makes SHS a better school. It helps the students feel better about going to school. Ms. Kim- ball thinks the kids at Seminole High School are well behaved and that there are few problems. She feels that by the time stu- dents are in high school, they should have a purpose in life. They know the rules, and if they aren't willing to follow them, they shouldn't be in school. High school isn't for everyone, but before anyone considers dropping out they should think about the alternatives and take responsibility for their actions. She spends her spare time sewing and enjoying the outdoors by walking on the beach. Mrs. Kimball has three children and feels that being a parent and a dean can sometimes help her under- stand the feelings and reactions of parents whose children she's dealt with. P
