With impending hurricanes David and Freder- ick some were concerned that school would not start on time. But alas, on September 4, 1979 summer vacation ended. Although most of us wouldn't admit to it, there seemed to be a certain excitement and anticipation for the starting of a new school year. The first fewdays back would prove to be eventful. The Warhawk Band, during a home game the band shows the audience why they're number one. Farm girl, junior Carol I-Iintz learns about life on the farm. The Wally syndrome, senior Lori Logan teases around with Wally Warhawk, senior Steve Thomas, during a foot- ball game. 10 Opening

The mad rush for parking decals left many students without a space to park their car. The football team disappointed their school with a 27-3 first loss against St. Pete High. No one lost spirit. though, and the team came back to win their next game. The Semi- nole High Clubs held a Club Day to recruit new members and to show the school their ideas and goals. All in all, it was the start to a good year. Library research, senior Cary T Iacobson uses the school library for assistance in his school work.
