In honor of her stamina, loyalty, and undying effort the 1978 Annual Staff has chosen to dedicate the '78 Indian to Mrs. Wilma Jones. We feel that those who know her best will agree that she deserves this recognition and those who do not know her as well will come to realize her value. 2 MEMORIES AND MOMENTS The year got off to a roaring start. There were the real friends and the artificial friends. There were those who tried to act a little bit older and those who tried to act a little bit younger. There were those who could relax no matter what the situation happened to be and there were those who were always running around like the sky was going to fall. There were the times when people were working hard and there were the times when people were playing hard. We have sad moments and sad memories almost as often as we have good moments and memories. Of course, the good moments and memories are the ones we cherish the most, but there are some sad moments and memories. I 5 One could say that memories and moments are a package deal — you can not have one without the other. The same holds true for spirit and pride. If you take time to put pride and spirit in everything you do, you will find that almost everytime something worth remembering (a special moment — a happy memory) will result. Good things are the results of hard work made up of pride and spirit; confidence in yourself and your school. Each individual should set a high goal for himself and strive to reach it. Looking forward to doing something or having something to do each day is what makes people look to the future; want to get up each day and make progress; reach his goal, and make memories of every good moment. 12 Throughout the year we have all experienced moments in which we now have memories. Some of these moments were made possible by individuals and some of these moments were made possible by groups of individuals. By the end of the year we are all making memories out of moments as fast as we were at the beginning of the year. Yes, we all need and have Memories and Moments. 13 CLASSESCLASSESCLASSESCLASSESCLASS '78‘78'78‘78'78'78'78'78'78'78‘78‘78'78'78 CLASSESCLASSESCLASSESCLASSESCLASS SENIORS Doug Aligood Richard Bland Curtis Alday Eddie Alday Sherry Alday Brett Archer 15 SENIORS Alice Brown Paul Bryant Pam Chrispen Greg Cole Debra Brannon Donnie Brown Maggie Chrispen Cecil Clemons Mike Conoly Cindy Darley Jan Dobson Patti Conley Michael Davis James Daniels Greg Drake Ron Dunaway Tommy Faircloth Connell Freeman 18 Willie Felts Ellen Gardner William Easom Debra Faircloth Perianne Fiveash ra— Cindy Glass Kayron Godwin SENIORS Willie Gngley Brannon Harvey Teri Hatcher Debbie Hawkins SENIORS Steven Helms Michael Hill Cleatus Hopkins Lorine Henry Brenda Holley Douglas Hopson Debbie Herring Brenda Hopkins Steve Horne Quinton Horne 20 s Sandy Jones Ricky King Randy Kirksey Renea Jones SENIORS Frank Huggins Rebecca Jackson Carol Jones Emmett Jones Donald Jackson n Kathryn Johnson Lena Kroll Mitchelle Lewis Benny Lomineck Kaye Miller Cheryl Lindsey Beverly McDaniel Danny Moss ✓ Clay Logue 23 Iwkl ISL Linda P Spencer Reynolds Gloria Quick Karyn Potts Lucious Ray Cheryl Reagan Terry Reynolds Samuel Smith Stephanna Smith T imothy Smith Michael Smith Jody Spooner 26 Robert Starling Robert Stewart Rita Thursby Stephen Todd Charles Walker Richard Ward Dora Williams Jan Williams Tyrome Sweet Shirley Thomas Judy Virgin Tony White Dallas Wurst III Jeanne Townes Clara Weeks Patricia Williams 27 SENIOR INDEX Mike Adams — F.F.A. 1. As in the past, this year's Green Machine has a great deal of which to be proud. Among a few of their accomplishments was the outstanding half time performances during football season The band is also proud to add to the long list their performances m the Peach Bowl Parade in Atlanta, the Appreciation Day Parade m Troy, Alabama, not to mention the annual competition of band festivals and solos and ensembles. Our band truly has a great deal of which to be proud, for we are second to none This special kind of pride and competitiMertpirit has been instilled in each member and can be credited to only one person, our director, Mr. Robert Strickland. ” 0 Benny Lommek, pres.
