Two seniors, five juniors,seven sophomores, and four freshmen were selected to compose this year’s squad. The loss of three starters from last year’s team that was defeated in the district semi-finals was an early season handi- cap. This plagued the team until die sophomores gained poise with game experience. The team has shown such pro- gress that they are now rated as a strong contender for the district title. F. A. was organized in 1937 and now has a membership of more than one hundred, and seventeen Honorary Members. Active membership consists of three grades: Green Hand, Junior Farmer and Georgia Planters. The fourth Degree is the American Farmer, A National Degree. It has fifty Georgia Planters and five American Farmers. The chapter has ranked among the top ten in the District for the past five years. Since that time it has been an active part of our school life. It has also taken part in the various district and state activities. One progresses in F.H.A. work by degrees. This year twenty members are trying for Junior Homemakers Degree and two for Chapter Homemakers Degree.
