gelma aculf H420 Miss Luella Bartsch came to Selma High in I949 and is teaching typing her first year. A graduate of Fresno State and Four Cs, she also teaches night school. Her hobbies are scrapbooks, photographs. and collecting souvenirs. Her main inter- est is music. Miss Delores Bonander's home town is our rival town of Kingsburg, California. She started teaching at Selma High in the vear 1946. She attended the University of California at Santa Barbara. Miss Bonan- der's hobbies are sewing and knitting. Mr. Edward Brown who attended Fresno State, University of California, and U. S. C. came to the Selma Science Depart- ment in 1947, after four years in the U. S. Air Force. His hobby is gardening, he also likes to work with chemistry. Gates U. Burrell, a graduate of the University of California, is also a native of Selma. He started teaching in Selma in 192S. His hobbies are gem cutting, fishing, traveling and Selma High students. Miss Yolanda Ann Cavallo, a gradu- ate of the Dominican College of San Rafael and California at Berkeley, came to Selma from San Francisco, California. Miss Ca- vallo's hobbies are hiking and skiing, and she also likes to listen to classical music. Miss Nellie Christensen graduated from the University of Redlands. She is the school librarian. Miss Christensen is one of the junior Red Cross sponsors. Her favorite hobby is gardening. Before com- ing to Selma she worked in the Fresno County Library. Frank Dobbs, teaching his first year of school. attended Bakersfield High and graduated from San .lose State College. His home town is Bakersfield. Mr. Dobbs' hob- bv is his vocation of teaching Farm Me- chanics and Metal work to the Selma High boys. Miss Trudy Doerr. a graduate of Santa Barbara College came to Selma in 1947. Her special interest is teaching school. Miss lDoerr's home town is Ventura, California. ller main hobbies are skiing, swimming, dancing or anything to do with recreation, She also likes to knit. Ns H lJl7ies Arthur C. Nord, a graduate of the l.'nis'ersits' of Southern California, is our hand director. Mr. Nord started teaching in 1921 and came to Selma to teach in 1938. His hobby is playing the violin and his special interest is composing music and. of course, the Selma High Band. Miss Almeda Nordyke came to Selma High in 1918. This was her first high school teaching iob. She attended W'hit- tier College and the University of Califor- nia, One of Miss Nords'ke's hobbies is col- lecting ss-ild flowers. She teaches Biology and General Science. Richard livrn Ovs'en's home town is in Yuba City, California. He started teach- ing at Selma High in 1947. He teaches boys' physical education and American history. His hobbies are skiing and Swim- ming. He attended Yuba College and the College of the Pacific. Miss Anna Marie Peterson chooses as her hobby, flowers and gardening. The colleges she has attended are Colorado State Teachers College, Occidental College and the University of California. She resides at 1625 Floral Avenue, Selma, California. ,lohn Quade's home town is in Onida, South Dakota. He enjoys golfing, tennis. photographs' and has done some free lance writing. He attended the University of Nebraska and graduated from Stanford. This is Mr. Quadc's first year as vice prin- cipal.
