DEDICATION IN THIS YEAR OF TOTAL WAR NO ANNUAL WOULD BE COMPLETE WITHOUT A THOUGHT FOR THE BOYS WHO ARE SERVING THEIR COUNTRY. THEY HAVE GIVEN UP MANY THINGS THAT WE WHO REMAIN STILL TAKE FOR GRANTED. MANY OF THESE BOYS WILL NOT RETURN: SOME WILL BE UNABLE TO EARN THEIR OWN WAY AFTER THE WAR IS FINISHED. TO THESE BOYS, AND TO THOSE WHO WILL GO, BUT RETURN, WE, THE STAFF OF THE I944 MAGNET, DEDICATE THIS BOOK, AS A REMINDER OF THE THINGS FOR WHICH THEY ARE GIVING THEIR LAST BREATH.
