glass pzopiecy lt is May 18, 1967--an anniversary. As I sit and ponder, pleasantly reminiscing, I can't repres a smile. My heart gets warm as I try to swallow the huge lump which is rising in my throat. Just ten short years ago, I stood very straight and sturdy, my eyes gleaming with self-assurance, and as I glanced through the audience, there was Mom and Dad, on the front row. Dad gleaming with pride, and Mom, though she smiled, had allowed a big tear to tremble on her lashes. Well, I mustn't let myself think of old times. I just finished designing the last dress for our new model and was taking them into the boss. As Iwas getting ready to leave, who should appear but our new model and much to my surprise it was Sharon Buffo. We reminisced for awhile and she invited me to have lunch with her. While driving down-town a sign reading DAVE AND DELLA'S caught my eye. We wondered if it was the same Dave and Della that we knew, so we stopped and went ing and sure enough it was. Dave ran the filling station and Della ran the restaurant. They were all one big happy family now that they had six children. They invited us to have lunch with them and we did. Bidding farewell and promising to return, we left. Returning to my office, I stopped in to see the boss and there sat Jim Golden, a lawyer. He had always been able to talk his way out of things at school, and now he was doing it and making mon- ey. I asked him if he knew where any more of our class were, and he said he didn't. He invited me to dine with him that evening. Picking me up at eight, we went to the Stork Club, and who should greet us at the door but Harold and Gerald Smith. They told us to be sure to stay for the floor show, and we did. After dining, we decided to take in a play when we saw the bulletin Judith Free and Otis Baker, starring in WHO TAUGHT THE NURSE . We went back stage after the play a.nd sure enough it was the same Judy and Otis we knew. After talking for awhile we took our leave. Catching a taxi outside the theater, we started for home. I thought the driver looked familiar and sure enough it was Maynard Garrett. He had always liked to drive recklessly, and now he was doing it legally. Having nothing else to do, the boss sent me over to talk to another of our executives about some new designs, and much to my surprise there sat Marilyn Greenfield. She was vice-president of the firm. Just imagine, the most mischievous, giggliest girl turned out to be the most success- ful of all. We sat and talked for some time and I told her about my past experience and having been able to locate all of our classmates but one, Leland Waugh. She said that after graduation she had kept in touch with him, and that he was singing in a down-town night club. We went down and sure enough Leland was a big hit with the teenagers. His latest hit was CROONING UNDER THE MOON . We talked with Leland for awhile and then left. Returning Marilyn to her office, I gave her all my love, as I have no one else to give it to, and bade her farewell. Sandra Spilman
