Every member was a timid six-year-old, starting to school for the first time. What could be so out of the ordinary about that? We have gone through the six years of grammar school and through Junior high school, here, there and everywhere. The Junior class-of 1930 is one of the classes which will be remembered in Selma High School, if for no other reason than that it was the smallest class to begin with that ever entered this school. There was no class to come from Junior High School at the beginning of 19283 therefore, the class was made up of pupils who came from other schools. There were seventeen members to begin with in first year, but we have acquired others, by having several new pupils enter this year: now we number thirty-eight. Though some of those whom we have so recently welcomed into our class have again gone elsewhere, we still are on the road to normal. Determining not to be left behind even, if we were small, we began in our first year to enter right into the school spirit of Selma High. We have gone out for all forms of athletics, and some of us are proudly wear- ing the S which means so much to us. The various clubs have received our help, and this year we have a majority of our members entering fully into the real school life. Though we have been confused with the second year class of last year, and many have thought that we were to be Seniors of '30, the fac- ulty, realizing our situation has helped us, for the most part, to be where we are, and are taking us on to 1931 so that we may make a real showing when we do leave the halls of Selma High.
