Johnson, USN Execurive Officer K l.Cdr. W. Kanakaniu ExecuTive Officer LieuTenanT Commander George M. JOHNSON, USN, a naTive of Bailey lsland, Maine graduaTed from Maine MariTime Academy in June l952. Upon graduaTion he was commissioned as an Ensign, U.S.N.R. During The period befween June l952 and Sep- Tember l95l1, LCDR. JOHNSON served as a Second MaTe in The MerchanT Marine. Upon enTering acTive duTy in l954 he was assigned To The USS TANNER CAGS-l5l as EirsT Division Officer. In July 1955 he was assigned as AssisTanT Officer in Charge of The EleeT BoaT Rool, NewporT, Rhode lsland. During This period he Transferred To The Regular Navy. LCDR. JOHNSON was Then ordered To The USS CROMWELL CDE-l0lLU as ElecTronic MaTerial Officer, CommunicaTions Officer and compleTed his Tour as ODeraTions Officer. ln March i959 he aTTended The General Line School and upon gradu- acTion in December i959 was assigned To USS SPRINGFIELD CCLO-75 as Eire ConTrol Officer unTil AugusT l962. l-le nexT aTTended The Naval l3osTgraduaTe School and upon compleTion in June V963 he proceeded To USS SELLERS for duTy as ExecuTive Officer. 7- 4- -ur
