U - O . . I A Cfazid Silence! That has been our password land how We shouted it!l ln 1942 We entered through the portals of Sell-Perk-silent- ly. Poor unsuspecting freshmen that we were, timid and scared --but stiff. Upon arriving, we were overwhelmed by the great sea of unfamiliar students which engulfed us. We felt that their inqui- sitive eyes were observing us as a specimen in a science lab. Despite all our apparent qualities of a fish out of water, We made quite a success of our magazine drive. Our super sales- woman was Margaret Gable caught in the act at left. Then we passed on to our sophomore year. This was the year when we could muss the new freshmen's hair and give them the works. And did we? You bet! o As sophomores, we lost some of our shyness and began to take an interest in school activities. That is the year when people began to sit up and take notice. Of what? Of us, of course. Entering our junior year we were eager to please-our- selves. For the first time we, as a class, sponsored a junior play. During this year we practiced constantly on how to be witty and Wise seniors in ten easy lessons. We also gave a prom for the Class of Forty-five. .jshafory And now we are seniors. Do we like it? Yes and no. We have finally attained what we wanted for three long years-to have the balcony for our very own. But being a senior means so much more. It means crowding all the beautiful memories possible into our last days in school. The highlight of the senior year is of course our trip to New York. As a means of raising money for our trip, we had charge of the concession stands at football games as seen in the picture at left. Millie Geiger lat leitl our only senior cheerleader dis- played her pep and enthusiasm at these games. Another money raiser was our senior play What A Life in which Spike Nase lrightl portrayed the ever loving, ever mischievous Henry Aldrich. In the entertainment line was our prom for which we see Carolyn Snyder lrightl pressing her gown. We climaxed our tour years with a noisy, rollicking class day program which was received--??? The solemn moment of the day was the presentation of the ladder of success by our President, Walt Hockman to Richard Horn lrightl. The foregoing thoughts are the happy memories of our joyous high school days. These memories will be carried with us through our entire lives. And so we leave, as we came, in silence.
