JUNIOR CLASS PLAY The High School Mystery Our Junior Class Play, The High School Mystery, was most ably directed by the Misses Mary Phillips and Virginia Burns. The High School Mysteryv is a play-within-a-play. The a c tio n takes place on the stage of a high school and in the auditorium. The first act has al- ready ended before the audience realizes they have witnessed a dress rehearsal of The House of Terror. Just as this is be- ing brought home to them, however, the real mystery begins-a mystery that in- volves the members of the cast, the direc- tor, and the author. The leading lady is warned by a mysterious voice to leave the cast at once. However, as the author of the play is present, the rehearsal contin- ues. From that point the play is a whirl- wind of excitement. A kidnaping takes place, and a murder is all but committed. In the end, everything is straightened out, and as in all good plays, the hero wins the heroine. l CLl'l'lLl!lCZf Mi r ffl, 4 LBJ Seated, Left to Right: J. Smith, M. Giauque, M. Kretz, J. Geist, P. SENIOR CLASS PLAY Miss Collegiate Miss Collegiate, a three-act com- edy, under the very capable direction of the Misses Eva and Phoebe Herman, proved to be a great success. The setting for our Senior Play was the recreation hall of Paxton College. Al- though Morgan Drake, Jr. has already been expelled from three colleges, his mother is determined that he shall grad- uate from a university. Accordingly, Mrs. Drake gives the Dean of Paxton a check as a donation, and enrolls her son as a student. In his place, however, comes Bob 9 Stewart, Morgan's tutor, posing as Mor- gan to prevent Mrs. Drake from learning that Morgan has become involved in a murder. Bob becomes a star football player and meets Beth Hart, the girl of his dreams. Beth admits the guilt of a crime which Bob is thought to have com- mitted, so that Bob may help Paxton win over its greatest rival. From then on the play is filled with suspense, as the game wildly progresses to a success for Paxton. Bob wins Beth, and everyone is proud of the poor boy who substituted for the rich one.
