ATHLETIC REVIEW The year 1961-62 in athletics has been very satisfying with almost 100 percent participation in at least one sport by every boy enrol led in the high school . Twenty boys were I isted on the foot-bal I squad. The team, under the direction of Mr.Gerald Sul I- ivan gave a very good account of themselves and provided excel I- ent entertainment for the spectators. Although hampered by injur- ies to several key men the team put out with all their ability. The 1962 team should be improved with the experience the boys received this year. An attractive schedule has been made. BASKET_________BALL The basket-baI I showed a si ight winning record over games lost but this year the teams were more evenly matched on both East and West leagues. The Antelopes, under a new coach, Mr.Joe Ha I mess, played a very interesting brand of basket-ball. Lack of height hurt the team but the offense was sound. Congratulations to the McNary High School of our league for winning the State Championship in Class C. The Antelopes can look forward to a very successful season next year with five regulars returning. One regular, Ross Perner, graduates. BASE_________BALL A forecast is rather difficult as Powskey, Luarki e,Wi Ider Swan,Querta were lost by graduation and Olson moving to Williams. All these boys were regulars on the state Championship team. However some good material returns with Benn,Beecher,Benn- ett,Ortiz regulars blending in with newcomers,Do I an,Acuna,Chamber- I a i n,Manakaja,BasgaI I,Newton,Polk,Brad Iey,D.0 I son,BeverIy,PI ant, Johnson,Lee,Latham,Smith,Graham ,Honga,Benavidez.
