CL RY cement, that, growing drowsy, I turned off my radio, pillowed my head in my arms, and began to think of the class of 1951 lany of the scenes of the past four years at S R H S flashed through my mind and then in an instant, vanished 'While thinking thus, I heard a sudden scratching on my desk It grew louder Startled, I looked up to see what had caused the rapping Through the dim light, I beheld the thing that so rudely disturbed my thoughts 'Surely, I must be dreaming,' I thought, But no-standing before me on my desk was a Wildcat, its sharp claws scratching toward my face 'What are you?' I cried, believing I was dream ng 'Are you an animal, spirit, or a devil? I gasped I am, slowly growled the ghostly visitor, 'The Wildcat ' HI came at your bidding you just called on the memory of the class of 1951, and I am he1 True, I did remember thinking about my classmates 'The career of the class of l9Sl, chanted the Wildcat, like an echo to my thoughts, 'has been romantic and exciting. It started with just a little over two handfuls of frightened freshmen. They were Mary Ann Canaga, Alvira Junneman, Madonna Koerperich, Clara Humm, Donna Weis, Edith Trimble, Opal Lea Smith, Jean Rome, and Betty Rome, Clarence Knopp and Charles Arnold. The best event of the year was initiation, where we humbly bowed our heads the dign fied seniors. 'le were defin tely green and it was the only time we ever thought of coming to school in our P J's, bare footed. For the first few weeks nothing could be heard but few timid squeaks from the eleven. Finally they got the 'swing of high school life and have had a tremendously good time ever since. Class officers were Betty Rome-President, ladonna Koer- perich-Vice-President, and Jean Rome-Secretary and treasurer. Our sponsor was Miss Swan,and later Miss Nancy Killem.
