Frist row: Dm-rel Knutson, Louis Kotsogeanis, Calvin Grimes Colm Clark Lance Jacobson, Rick Jolly, Lou Allison. The Sehome cross-country team, under the coaching of Don Jansen, finished their season with a 3 and 4 record. They were 4th in the league, 11th in the district, and took 6th in the state. Paul Eichenberger led the Mariner Harriers, followed by two battling juniors, Anthony Hewlett and Robert Arnold. Rounding off the top 10 varsity runners were, Lou Kotsogeanis, Ken Arnold, Kevin O'Conner, Freshman letter winner, Chris Mackrell, Bruce Cole and Ron Zegers. Senior Calvin Grimes com- pleted the season with a ca st on a, broken arm suffered in the second meet of the season. Injured early was another senior, John Kotsogeanis who came in late to help the team in the final meets and win his letter. Paul Eichenberger, a three year varsity man, took a. strong 6th place out of 153 competitors in the state meet. CRUSS C0lI TRY

Even though the record was not as successful as the team had hoped, many young play- ers showed pro- mise of being fine ball players in their next 3 years as Mariners.
