It had a 7-4 re- cord overall and a 4-4 record in varsity play. Kelly Lease led the team in rushing with 525 yards and Mike Haines was the leading receiver with 178 yards. The Blackhawks scored 276 points which was a season record. Matt Doucett and Shawn Holmes were the standouts on defense. Probably the best game of the season was against Charlo. Charlo had never been beaten by the Blackhawks and it looked like the hex would continue as Charlo led 28-8 by the middle of the second Quarter. Then Mike Haines caught a touchdown pass to close the gap to 28-16 at halftime. The second half showed that the Blackhawks had fighting spirit. The running of Mitch Baretta and the abusive defense led by Matt Doucett soon gave the Black- hawks a 38-28 lead. The Vikings tried to come back but it was too little too late and Seeley Swan ended the game with a 38-34 vic- tory.
