To run this hard and stubborn world Just as it should be run; But much I fear they'll find that facts Don’t always track with dreams; And running this old world is not As easy as it seems. The graduate is prone to think His wisdom is complete. He’s but to ask—the world will lay Its trophies at his feet. But school days done and work begun, He learn to his regret The college of experiences. He has not mastered yet. The world has garlands and applause At graduating time; But may forget him the next day When he attempts to climb. Life is a battle where each one Must seek and hold his own. He who would rise above the clouds Must scale the heights alone. This is the rule of life today, As it has ever been; The world bestows its smile on those Who have the strength to win. Beneath all outward semblances It looks for merit true. It little cares how much you know, But asks, what can you do? 15th at State KSSZjCSKS ZAKS 3JKSZ '| A Z T JVJSW Homecoming Queen Roberta Underwood TOUCHDOWN ! 8 Princess “Betty’ Princess “Brend; Princess “Lesley Prom Queer H 'Shelly Nicholson MUSIC CHKJSZMAS eOMCSKZ 12 Julie Walker um is .«.«“CHEAPER BY THE CAST: Mr. Gilbreth ......................David Dailey Mrs. Gilbreth .....................Susan Davis Krnestine ......................Pam Richards Frank...............................Bill Ellis Anne .............................Cheryl Lewis Fred............................Tauna Lemons Dan ......................Jeanette Underwood Martha ......... ....................Amy Krantz M iss Brill................................Dawn Smith Mrs. Fitzgerald...........................Nancy Morris Bill ...........................Darrell Knodel Larry...........................Rick Reinhard Dr. Burton......................Kneil Johnson Joe Scales .....................Tauna Lemons Lighting ..........................Kelly Quinn Sound Effects.............................Nancy Morris Props and make-up..........................Lori Farra Director ...................Mrs. Peggy Kimmet Assistant Director .............Vivian Weaver 17 A-SQUAD GIRLS BASKETBALL LIBBY TOURNEY Seeley-Swan 60 Victor 17 Seeley-Swan 33 Florence 51 Seeley-Swan 53 Alberton 35 Seeley-Swan 40 Drummond 30 Seeley-Swan 41 P-Burg 59 GIRL’S SCORE MAKE PASSES TOO! —FOOTBALL 79 Standing I. to r Scott Smith. We probably had the stron- gest team in the history of the school, but we still failed to win the elusive state championship trophy. The Blackhawks were built around tough senior and junior veterans Bob Baier, Jay Rammell, Mike Haines, and Randy Frye, and bolstered by promis- ing young newcomers Bill Wood, Wade Hallam, Chris Rammell and Marvit Door. At one point in the season there were 19 boys on the team and we ended up with fifteen lettermen. We were un- defeated in local B, C, and some A com- petition, but cold weather and sickness of some of our best runners caused us to get third at State rather than the cham- pionship that we wanted.
