A good beginning leads to good tilings. In the fall every musician starts out slow and methodical. Our musical year started with 20 students, 4 being boys in chorus. Our 15 high school band members were the nucleus of the band, and 12, 7th and 8th graders brought the total number up to 27. The big surprise was our beginning high school band with 12 enthusiastic beginning musicians. Later in the year the beginning band members helped us out by playing with the High School Band at the District Music Festival, and the combined bands brought back a well deserved strong II rating. The highlights of the Blackhawks Musical Year were: Nov. 21-22 -Thompson Falls Music Festival attended by Geoff Foote, Cheryl Miller, Dora Morris and John Sterling in the Band, and Kelly Best, Theresa Dellwo, Brenda Farra, Crete hen Foote, Debbie Hansen, and Toni Nash in the Chorus.
