Lone Pine-75 STUDENT LIFE IS....... making new friends and keeping the old... stacking lockers... apathy and enthusiasm... finding out teachers are human too... the spartan market... skipping a class and then meeting the teacher later in the hall... good times and laughter... having a headache and trying to find an aspirin... being late to school and thinking up some other excuse besides MI slept in ... waiting until the night before the end of the quarter to do your paper... ...what you make of it Suan Barmeyer CLASSES ARE....... racing through the door three seconds after the bell rang... snoozing during the movie... remaining silent when the teacher asks you a question... waving your hand wildly when the teacher doesn't ask you a question... going to the dentist two or three times a week... squirming in your seat because you have an itch... scratching secretly... glancing at the clock every five minutes... trying to talk to your friends outside the door while under critical survey by the teacher... crossing your eyes so you can see the tip of your nose - for lack of anything better to do... doing your Algebra in English class... thinking of Friday night... thinking of Saturday night... ...stepping stones to graduation Marina Graham Our Foreign Visitors Luis Arroyave from Guatemala, Ana Castellon from Nicaragua, Edgar Muller from Mexico, Olfa Garces from Columbia The laughter we were glad to share will echo through the years. When other nights and other days may find us gone our seperate ways. MOMENTS TO REMEMBER Just I and my friends - We'll travel for miles in our Saturday smiles. And then we'll move on. Summary of the Seeley-Swan High School Girl's Basketball season: A-Squad: Our season ended with a record of 24 wins and 2 losses. Our first loss was to Great Falls, the first game of the year, and our second loss was to Absorkee, the second game of the State Tournament. We lost that game by only one point, a heart-break- ing loss that will never be forgotten by any of us. The girls have made a fine reputation for themselves, and deserved to be 1. B-Squad: We have some very strong competitors coming up to replace the out-going Seniors, and we look forward to another State trip for our teams next year. C-Squad: Our team offers a real future threat to our foes, and a couple of our girls are ready to move right up to the B or possibly the A squads next year. Here's how to know! THE BIBLE SAYS: All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23 But God commended His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9 26 Boy's Basketball “A” Squad, LEFT TO RIGHT: Mr. Haines, Mr. Gratton, Mr. Baretta, Bill Mackie, Dick Hoehn, Shane Smith, Ted Sanderson, Ross Friede, Les Moody, Dennis Hoestetler, Jeff Cole, Mike Dellwo, Charles Wood, Gerry Wood. The Blackhawks had a tough time of it this year, being in a rebuilding process, but perhaps the highlight of the entire season came when they de- feated the Thompson Falls scrappers, who had beaten our club twice in the regular season, with our victory com- ing during the crucial Divisional Tournament. All in all it was a fun season, and we expect great things from our teams next year! The Seeley-Swan Blackhawk wrestling team more than held their own this year, with six boys qualifying for State, which was held in Miles City. Warren Gehrke, Bert Mecham, Dave Munter, Carlin Rammel, and Bob Mantei made the trip, while Malcolm Kesterson could not make it because of an injury suffered at Divisional. Bert and Warren were the only ones who received medals at State, both coming in second in the fierce competition. Seven team members were lost through graduation, but several good prospects are coming into high school. Sponsored by: HANK'S BEAR ALIGNMENT DRAGSTEDT'S- Everything Men Wear.
