KEEPERS OF THE STATUS QUO As our senior year passes by and deadlines, both college and yearbook, occupy our attention, we must stop for a moment to thank those who helped to make our high school years the happy experience that they were. I feel, however, that even more than a simple ‘‘thank you,’’ congra- tulations must be offered for taking an indifferent class and making it a success when it was neces- sary. It is in this spirit that we, the class of 1984, dedicate this yearbook to you, Mrs. Helen Keough and Mrs. Marjorie Woodhams. Yet this dedication is not merely a maudlin, though empty sentiment, but a sincere expression of gratitude for countless hours of hard work. But more than that it is a belief in our class as a whole and a friendly relationship with its individual members that makes you, our class advisors, so special. Let us not, however, laud them only for cheery words and giddy encouragements. Their support is honest and tough at times but no matter how dissapointing the outlook, we could always count on them to carry much of the load. If it were not for their hard work and dedication to our class we might have lost our junior prom and some of the other privileges which our apathy endangered. Their concern and planning has also guided us through four spirit weeks even when our earlier spirit level had left much to be desired. Their contributions to our class have also, glad- ly, stretched beyond spirit and drive. They in- clude keeping the activity meetings going, which plan our events, and running the class meetings which inform the rest of us about those events. a Peete: a gpg Siaceeses, Ses We also thank them for being wonderful teachers, chaperones, and friends. The senior class would especially like to extend its gratitude to ‘‘“Mom’”’ for her stewardship of the National Honor Soci- ety. It is in this way that we would like to offer our thanks to our advisors for the tireless guidance of our class which ultimately made this yearbook possible. I hope that this dedication will be a simple statement of gratitude and that it will amply por- tray the sentiments of those people whom I repre- sent. Richard Sizensky Editor-in-chief
