1981-1982 The Junior year was one of change for the class of ’85. We were no longer underclass- men, previously known as “itty-bitty” and “silly.” We were UPPERCLASSMEN, a FORCE to be acknowledged! Accom- panying this change in class seniority came a change in ex- pressing one’s emotions. Fel- low classmates, wishing: to show their affection to Miss Debbie Ditson, presented her with a garter belt. Debbie was not the only one to receive an unusual present, Mr. Mooney, whose popularity has brought A0Outsa. Mra Mocieyeram CluD. was grected onsinic birthday by a singing gorilla, complete with balloons. Lucki- ly, there wasn’t a balloon for each year! “Opirit Days “arrived on schedule prior to the annual Warrior — D.R. Thanksgiving game (We won't even mention that we lost). After last year’s success, the class of ’85 was determined to maintain our title — and we did! Emotion was high in S.H.8. that year as indicated by a carefully planted stink bomb which left behind a trail of up- turned noses in the art hall. Come on guys, the art work was not THAT bad! Yet another type of violence was considered. Cries to “shoot the preppies” could be heard con- tinuously. Fortunately, these CRICSEWe remo liiy = ee ia threats, for half the popula- tion of Seekonk would have been annihilated! What would we have done with all those alligators? To help curb the rowdiness in the parking lot, the administration installed speed bumps creating a great demand for shock absorbers. Also, in a further effort to en- force school policies, some smoking areas were elimi- nated, leaving the lavatories in need of interior decorators to paint the ceilings ta “designer” colors! Oh that dreaded day when the PSAT scores were handed out in the auditorium — 210 verbal; 780 math? All that’s left to do is memorize. 965 vocab words in two days to pre- pare for the SAT’s — our sec- ond exercise.in futiniae However, spirits were lifted — and mugs, favors from the Ju- nior Prom (what a great time!) — when students tuned into 94 HJY (for beautiful mu- sic) only to hear Led Zeppelin instead of Donny and Marie. All in all, the year was one of fun, preparing us for an even better Senior year.
