REFLECTIONS °69 Seekonk High School Seekonk, Massachusetts John D. Hanley Dedication We, the graduating class of 1969, do hereby dedicate this edition of Reflections to our class advisor, Mr. John Hanley, who has attained great admiration and respect from all of us. He has always found the time to listen to our problems and offer us advice and assistance. As we bid farewell to Seekonk High School, we also bid a sad valediction to a man whose wisdom is sur- passed only by his kindness. We hope that in the future years, he will remember us fondly, as we will always remember him. Adm in istration ALBERT F. Swimming ROUNDUP Probably the most renowned team of the young Seekonk High sports history is this year’s swim team. The team which is so far enjoying an undefeated season has completely de- molished all opposition and is hoping to remain undefeated. The team which competed in the Eastern Regionals finished 2nd out of 24 teams with a total of 160 points, Pool and team records seem to fall like flies. The success of the team is primarily due to Coach Ellis Mayers. Under his experienced supervision and strict control, all members of the team have learned proper swimming techniques and team strategy from a pro. The tests of the season are yet to come. These are the duel meet with Cranston East and the Mass. State Champion- ship. The next few years the Seekonk team should dominate this area. Many of the record holders are underclassmen. The younger town team also holds some fine prospects for the school. I would imagine the nebulous goal of a state cham- Pionship is within our grasp. ca a a. Bottom row: J. Collins, S$. DeSilva, T. This team has the distinction of winning the first Narry League championship for Seekonk High School in any sport. Master- fully coached by Mr. Bowers, the team, comprised of 8 seniors, 2 juniors, and 8 sophomores, compiled a 10 and 4 record. This year’s ball club, which only has four seniors, is again filled with young talent. If the team doesn’t repeat as league champs this year, it is certain they will in ’70 and ’71. PEMUNE Hisig Ci CRAMER i = 134 CO-CAPTAINS: M. Fiero and S. Slading. Narry League Championship Trophy. Track °68 ROUNDUP The trackmen of 1968 ended a fairly successful season with a third place finish in the Narragansett League Cham- pionship Meet. The season began with a win over St. Raphael Academy, followed by a loss to Bishop Feehan. Seekonk’s dual meets with Narry League foes produced victories over Case and Dighton-Rehoboth and a defeat by Somerset. The Warriors’ triumph over Dighton-Re- hoboth came after a thrilling comeback and a last event win by the 880 relay team. With only a few graduation losses, a strong showing in the expanded Narragansett League is envisioned for the 1969 track season under new coach Frank Mooney. (1) W. O'Hara, J. Collins, M. Bear, B.
