Each person’s progress is charted from week to week, so that each member can check his progress against the others. The boys usually pick their own partners, but are sometimes assigned to one. In this way the lx)ys play their friends; and, at the same time, meet some inter- esting and challenging new people. All in all the Chess Club is a place to come to enjoy oneself and learn about a truly remarkable game, chess! Since successful choral work can only be attained by concerned effort, our pupils develop good teamwork at the same time, discovering a musical activity, in which he or she can participate with individual satisfaction and some degree of mastery. We began our year by building a repetoire of folk songs of our own country and those of other lands. In December the club presented at assembly, a program featuring Hanukkah and Christmas songs. Patriotic selections are being rehearsed, in club. The Glee Club thanks the entire student body for being such a good audience; we enjoyed singing to you in December and hope we can have a repeat performance before we leave in June. Thank you! Club Officers, Members, and Miss Brett — 24 —
