When the freshmen first arrived in this building for the purpose of fur- thering their knowledge many were lost in this spacious school, but they were soon both seen and heard. They were seen and heard 1.1 all the activities around Union High. ln deed, tne old school would now be a guiet and lonesome place without them. At their first class meeting these active stud- ents nominated and elected their class officers, lack Holt was elected president' Melvin Lind' bloom vice-president Barbara Hebert secre- tary' and Leona Cathey class representative, Their adviser was Miss Una Stewart. Musical organizations had their membership increased by this years freshrnenp and i11 the field of sports, the freshmen have also taker: a11 active part. The girls have organized sev- eral good teams, and their basketball tea111 was outstanding. Many freshmen boys have turned out for athletics also. 21.
