Under the skillful training of boxing Coach Bill Mullen and wrestling Coach Kenneth Drislcill, the sixty recruits, most of whom were inexperienced at the beginning of the season, developed rapidly into two snappy teams. During their first year as major sports these two sports have proved themselves among the most popular attractions the school has to offer. Due to the fact that many neighboring schools do not have ring teams, the Cubs had to go far afield for competition. After the season was officially closed, the Cub fighters put on an exhibition match at Mount Vernon. Each member of the teams had his particular fans who rooted for him. Those who received boxing letters were: Captain Earl Richardson, Roger Hammond, Ray Dewey, Arznster Bacus, Alden Willis, Gordon Dewey, Bill Kelley, Bert Schrader, Stanley Holton, George Mundi, and Al Lisherness. Those who received wrestling letters were: Captain Merle Niece, Ralph Stendal, Mike Pizzuto, and Maurice Clifford. The seasons record follows: Comstocks Clubs from Seattle and Everett in hoxing Sedro-Woolley' won five bouts, lost three, Lincoln High of Tacoma in boxing won four bouts, lost two -in wrestling won two, lost one. Lakeside High School of Seattle - in boxing won seven bouts, lost one in wrestling won one, lost two. Lincoln High of Tacoma fin boxing won five, lost two' in wrestling won two, lost two. Ifli
