IHI C OMF T Im not much of a salesman as you wrll admrt But through your krndness all of the ads I drd get Our new adx ertrsements we apprecrate too And publrsh our Comet as a trrbute to you CH37 THE TOURNAMENT It was Saturday the thrrteenth of March I belreve That I walked to Webbs store from whrch we were to leave If I remember rrght the sky was clear And as we left we gave a great cheer The road from Sedgwrck to f'ast1ne as you know Is rougn and we traveled very slow Frnally we stopped at Lrnwood Grays store And our party was rncreased by two or three more The weather that day was also cold As the color of our faces plarnly told We reached the gymnasrum after a fearful rrde But even then we couldnt get rnsrde The doors were opened at half past one And the spectators poured rn to see the fun Accordrng to the rules of the tourney that day We drew lots to see whrch team we would Play It was frnally decrded rn a legal way That Sedgwrck and Castrne would have to Play 'Iheres nothrng, of rmportance about that Dame Except that to Sedgwrck Hrgh rt added some fame Qedgwrck and Penobscot were the wrnners that day So that nrght for the champronshrp we were eheduled to play Vie played as we never had played before And at the half were satrsfred wrth a tre score When the game was resumed our trouble began bo we called trme out to thrnk up ft plan It drdn t help as you know by the score And about that game I shall say no more The trophy was awarded to Penobscot Hrgh And to wrn that trophy I should lrke one more try Some credrt I thrnk should be grven our team CH MARCH 'Ihe wrnd doth blow Just see rt snow Its grey and drear and cold Yes March came rn such IS the srn Lrke a roarrng l1on bold The brooks are frozen hard and fast 'Ihe trees look sad and bare We thought that wrnter all was past Replaced by sprrng so farr But the brrds are stayrne rn the South No srngrng do we hear No smrles are seen on Natures mouth Her mrles we prrze as clear But soon of course twrll all be gone The sun wrll shrne once more The flower babes wrll be reborn When Aprrl opens her door K E H 38 26 H 5 , 3 , N W y ,' bv , ' . ,' .S , ' ' - 5 . - v r - 'V - ' 'L r , .
