CI-IEER LEADERS The cheer leaders did a grand job in keeping up the school spirit and morale during the football season. SEBRING HIGH SCHOOL BAND The Sebring High School Band is one of the really great high school bands in America The band rightly belongs in class C according to school enrollment but has stepped up two classes to the class A competition and has rated Superior for the p st twenty two years The director of the band this year is Peter Gustat who came back after a year s lease of absence The band fills many engagements such as football games chapel programs parades twelye winter concerts at the Municipal Pier and many other ciyic functions Its outside actiuties are many. They include the Gasparilla celebration at Tampa state music clinic at Tampa Sara De Sota Pageant at Sarasota the district contest in Sebring and the state contest held in 'Iacksonyille this year. The band s daily schedule is much the same as the required subjects taught in school, Each member has a practice period during the day aside from the full band practice. Student material for the sixty-five piece senior band is started in many instances from the tonette band in the fourth and fifth grades. From the tonette band the student progresses through the beginners band into the rookie band before entering the senior band. This year the band has played concerts all over the state, raising money to attend the International Lions Convention in New York City this summer.
