The senior class of 1946 has presented this play and given much pleasure to the capacity filled audience. It is interesting to make a survey of the production of this superb performance in all of its stages. lt required numerous hours of work for the appointed committee to make a study of many available plays. After the final elimination it was decided, with full approval of the group. to use Star Crazy for this year's class play. Responding to Mrs. Coker's call for tryouts, about twenty eager candidates appeared in the auditorium and the elimination began. Before the session was over nearly everyone had read passages from parts of all the characters. All parts were not cast that night. but by the next day the entire cast had been selected. The entire cast and a description of each appear as follows: IZABELLA--A very stout housekeeper whose age is given away by her wrinkled face and graying face. Although she appears very sarcastic and disagreeable throughout the play, she has a comedy role and con- tinually receives laughs. Sarah Jackson. BILL ANDREWS-He is an average young brother who is full of energy and ideas. His clothes are very loud and slightly wrinkled. Richard Fritz. PROFESSOR ANDREWS-He is very feeble and has gray hair. He wears shellerimmed glasses and always carries a book that interests him immensely. He is very intelligent in the field of astronomy but absent- minded in all other helds and knows exactly nothing of the present generation of so-called children. Hatf- wood Taylor. JERRY ANDREWS-She is a girl of eighteen who is very much devoted to her work of assisting her father. At first she appears unattractive. but with a bit of makeup artistry she appears a true vision of loveliness. Dorothy Jean Traylor. -The 1947 Nan-Ces-O-Wee DONNA ANDREWS-Donna is the young kid sister who runs in comfortable sport clothes and plays cupid. I.aQu1'da Morgan. BETH ROBINSON-Beth is also dressed in anklets and sport clothes and is a very close friend of Donna's. She tries very hard to receive the attention of Bill. Ctmlhia Jo Schumacher. DICK MAI.l.ON-Dick is a typical athlete and is very good looking. He is set on his ways and intends to get what he goes after. Ted Shuenmkt-r. JOAN MAYBIERRY-Miss Mayberry is a Hollywood star who is very beautiful and dresses well. but wears entirely too much makeup. She wants publicity, no matter what the cost may be. Mary Ellen Jones. JOE ALLCOT-He is dressed very loudly and talks with the same kind of loudness. ln reality he is a fairly good guy. but he wants money and most any deal with money involved interests him.
