Q JD X - plilll :yi gil lp lhl OUR HELMSMAN N the days before steam, electricity and the radio had reduced ocean travel to a luxurious pleasure trip a jour- ney over seas was a tremendous undertaking and the success of the adventure depended almost entirely on the skill and courage of a single man, the captain. School life, for the student, is a voyage over unfamiliar seas and great is the need of a helmsman with firm hand and steady eye. Seattle College High School is fortunate in having such a leader in the person pf Father Dennis Sullivan, S. Coming here two years ago, a practical stranger, he has won the respect and admiration of every student. His squareness, far-sighted direction and whole' heart- ed devotion to the students even to the sacrificing of his health have contributed more than anything else to the growth of the school in every direction. Under his ad- ministration the classrooms and laboratories have been remodeled, the beautiful new chapel completed, and a splendid gymnasium erected. ff? ,XIX To Father Sullivan we owe the gratitude of a student 1 X lb body to its firm but kindly leader and we take this op- 5 5 portunity of expressing our appreciation of all that he has done for us. if .
