'A'-k'k'ki ki k'k'k'ki' ORCHESTRA 8 JAZZ NSEMBLE at I' Calf' Symphony Orchestra. directed by Gary Fladmoe. had a busy schedule this year, including performances during Parents Weekend. Homecoming, Advent Chapel and the Festival Concert on May l7th held in the Opera House. Any qualified musician can be a member by audition. The group trys to feature outstanding student soloists in their performances. Every other year the orchestra goes on tour, last year for instance they went on a I7 concert tour in British Columbia and they have also been to Disneyland. The members are: Jana Tsuji. Susan Herzog, Linda Nygren, Clayton Park, Karen Robinette. Melody Smith, Alisan Forgy. Karen Baillie, Greg Lund. Mark Morrow. Susan Walton. Pamela Holcomb. Kimberly Young, Vera Groom. Gayle Holmlund, Diane Steele, Jeff Brooks. Jeffrey Shaw. Linda Boschult, Dana Silva. Marta Gray, Melissa Morrow, Anna Hardenbrook, Lavonne Stay. Leslie Saling. Kelly Siebecke, Donald Zimmerman, James Hashman, and Leanne Fritz. Bringing jazz to the campus community was a major goal for the jazz ensemble. Under the direction of Eric Hansen, this lively group did a number of performances on campus. Some of the scheduled performances this year included Campus Preview, Jan. I7 in the SUB, and March II in Gwinn Commons. Last year one of their main achievements was participating in the jazz festival held at the University of Idaho where they did an excellent job. Jazz ensemble is very demanding and since the enrollment is limited to I7, it isn't that easy to become a member. Only the best students are chosen and that makes for an outstanding group of musicians. The members are: Berry Zimmerman, Tammy Heisy, Wayne Dalgardno. Lynn Graciano. Ray Willard, Charles Arndt.
