There are many opportunities available, some of which are the Coffee House Ministry on Ist Avenue. being a Big Brother or Big Sister to a young person, helping with the handicappedg visiting the elderly. or running a special errand for those unable to get out of the house. y Elizabeth Zarelli of campus ministries is the program coordinator. They issued a challenge to each member of the SPU community to: commit himfherself to Christ and to his plan for world evangelism: :QlQV9lOP: the habitmof prayer for missions and, Y becomeea faithful 'steward of hisfher time, talents and money. Their plan was to make available more information about missions and opportunities to serve, both here and abroad. They began by sponsoring a chapel early in the fall featuring students who participated on mission teamspin Thailand, England and South America. This was followed by the organization of a weekly information sessiongeared toward familiarizimng students with current mission opportunities. Named aptly Operation Outreach Opportunities these Wednesday night sessions ranged from films on the Cambodian crisis to presentations by various mission boards. ln addition, the organization sponsored a cadre taught by Steve Hoke and made good use of the Falcon and To the Point publications to publicize special events. ln short :they moved far towards their goal to develop awareness of, commitment to, and involvement in Cliristscommand to 'make disciples of all nations.'

M On March 23, eight SPU stu- dents, sponsored by Food for the Hungry, traveled to Thai- land to help the suffering ref- ugees. After a week of train- ing they were separated and assigned to seven camps. ranging from 900 to I30,000 refugees. The major thrust of their work was setting upfood centers. Developing agriculture projects. teaching English, raising chickens, and planning recreation were also among the various challenges that faced the students. They went to Thailand expecting to serve. They did. But they also received much more. Come, you who are blessed by my Fathentake your inheritance the Kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For l was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger and you invited me in, l needed clothes and you clothed me, l was sick and you looked after me whatever you did for the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.
