Their only losses were to U.S. international, Eastern Illinois and in the NCAA ll playoffs to Chico State. They ranked fourth in the nation in the NCAA Il and first in the Far West. The booters opened the season in California bring home a 7-I record. They moved on to play and take the crown in the Northwest Collegiate Soccer Conference beating out the University of Washington and Simon Fraser. In the Sounders Cup SPUlplaced first in frontrof the UW and Seattle Universi- ty. In the nets for the Falcons Sergio Soriano was credited with ll shutouts and Mark Thompson with five setting a new school frecord with I6 for the season. Senior .lim McKay broke the career assist record with 37 for the four years he has played with SPU. SPU iust missed going to the playoffs in Miami for the fourth time by loosing to Chico 2-3 in the third overtime at Memo- rial Stadium on Nov. l9th. ,, ' Y, f i
