Folcon This year The FALCON has served as a stimulant and sounding board for student news and opinions. Both the Letters to the Editor and FALCON Forum were vehicles for lively student discussion. The paper also went into in-depth coverage and features on civil rights, homecoming and the campus environment. Off campus also came in for special attention as The FALCON covered community election is- sues, improvements and visiting personali- ties such as Bishop James Pike, Governor Ronald Reagan and others. The paper has tried to be activist, ,criti- cal, and skepticalg publishing independent reporting and commentary about educa- tional and broader concerns. Aided by the active leadership of Kirby Bertholf, the gospel teams have pre- sented Christ through word, song, and testimony. Conducting meetings three times a month they traveled from Vancouver, Canada to Eastern Wash- ington. The gospel team, directed by Paul Fleischmann and with Steve Witham as their speaker, made a spring trip to California delivering a message series a musical program. Missions isn't just for the foreign mis- sionary. Through fellowship with oth- ers, lnter-Varsity strives to awaken students to the Christian's responsi- bility of making Christ known through- out the world. Speakers and films pro- vide pertinent information on various aspects of missionary life in biweekly meetings. A prayer and Bible study is held twice a month. The highlight of the year was the International Trien- nial Convention at Urbana, Illinois De- cember 27-31, 1967 where 9,000 were in attendance. College Life, sponsored by Campus Crusade, is oriented toward learning more about the person of Jesus Christ and His relevance in lives today. There is a time of sharing answers to prayer, singing, and hearing brief talks by a student or Crusade staff member. Small Action groups are held in the dorms for further Bible study. Gospel in Action 4 X John Scott, Church of England, was one of the prominent guest speakers at Urbana '67. iran, ,, I .N-lv J L ,J
