Gary Wallace-Treasurer Sue Schlicker-Secretary Butterscotch sunbeams were quickly devoured by busy Student Council members as they discussed, argued, demanded, fought, and, yes, prayed together over student affairs. Council brought action this year on a variety of topics including: campus phones, li- brary use, cafeteria, speaker policies, campus pub- licity, freshman registration, an all-college radio sta- tion, and SPC development plans. We continued to broaden our horizons by sending delegates to the Model United Nations in New York, the Western Regional Drug Conference in Los An- geles and the Presidential Prayer Breakfast in Wash- ington, D.C. Besides the candy, it may be impossible to point to anything really spectacular that student government did for students. But the important aspects of life never get the publicity anyway. We kept the machin- ery going-and that is a job in itself! l thoroughly enjoyed working with some very capable associates in the office. A big bowl of candy goes to Craig, Ken, Gary, Keith, and of course, Sue. And if there's anything left, Dean Keith Bell should have all he wants-he was of unsurpassed assistance. And I really don't need to thank Student Council Advisor Dr. Gordon W. Martin, he would help himself to the candy anyway! Perhaps the greatest thrill of being president has been the opportunities to work with faculty and adminis- trative members. My candy goes out to them, too, espe- cially to President C. Dorr Demaray whose service and dedication to students has been a personal inspiration to me. John W. Pearson Associated Students President
