English Since the establishment in 1962, of a Journal for the Institute of Research at Seattle Pacific College, Professor Donald McNichols has been editor. This journal has received wide rec- ognition for some of the articles. It is sent regularly to many of the sig- nificant libraries in the United States, including Harvard, as well as to libraries in England, France, Aus- tralia, and Hong Kong. The department is undertaking a sig- nificant study during the summer of 1968 by questionnaire. Those Eng- lish graduates of the past 10 years in public school teaching will be asked to evaluate the training they received in the department. A similar study will be made of those gradu- ates of the past ten years who have pursued graduate study. The trends, if any, and other suggestions and in- formation coming from these two studies will be of help in determining the proper course that the depart- ment should take as it continues to develop its program. Professor Carl Johnson, journalism, is Youth Editor for a periodical, The Herald, and news correspondent for the Washington area for the publica- tion Christianity Today.
