HIS RESIGNATION MADE US MORE AWARE OF THE MAN HE IS. President and Mrs. Demaray attend Homecoming Coronation reception. Seattle Pacific College has been undergoing a period of rapid growth and development. In a very few years many new buildings were required, student enrollment increased markedly, additions to the faculty of the highest caliber men and women available have been made. Growth is healthy and desirable, but with it must come re-examina- tion and a sharpening of awareness of the purposes and goals involved. This has been the year for Seattle Pacific College to look into its own life with discrimination. Self-studies have been made for the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education and for the Northwest Association of Secondary and Higher Schools. Our School of Nursing is striving for national recognition. The School of Music will be looking in that direction shortly. With all of our success- ful attempts to meet the academic competition of today, it is our strong purpose and intent to develop students who can confront modern secular society with an effective Gos- pel message. We salute the Tawahsi staff in their attemp-ts, through this publication, to sharpen our awareness. The students of SPC have shown remarkable versatility in their new approaches to society in the name of Christ, such as Operation Out- reach. Let me assure you that we will be watching with great anticipation the developments at SPC, where the fin- est approaches to excellence in Christian higher education will emerge. C.
