The '67-'68 Seattle Pacific roundball squad began what appeared to be a mediocre season last December, as they dropped four of their first nine games. However, after two bitter defeats to Eastern Montana in Billings, the Falcons bounced back to win 12 of their final 16 games. A fine group of sophomores plus a spark-plug bench backed up top senior scorer and rebounder Bill Yeager, who received honorable mention as col- lege-division All-American. With excellent scoring from the pivot and balanced outside shooting, the Falcons established a new season offensive record of 87.1 points per game. The high points of the season were the double victories over Western Wash- ington, Central Washington, and Portland State. These victories .seemingly clinched a spot for the Falcons in the regional tournament. However, the NCAA officials had much difficulty in choosing anybody and SPC was by- passed in favor of three California schools. The Falcons finished the regular season with 16 wins, nine losses, and four graduating seniors. The eight returning lettermen, their feathers ruffled by the tournament fiasco, point toward a successful and winning season next year.
