Wrestling Falcon wrestlers made their debut into national tournament wrestling at the end of the 1967-68 season. Ken Jackson, 137, who advanced to the quarterfinalsg Drake Lemm, 152, and Bill Lemm, 160, scored five points to place 33rd among 71 schools entered in the NCAA college-division championships at Mankato, Minnesota. The first wrestling team trophy was earned by the Falcons at the Skagit Valley invitational. The Falcons tied Skagit Valley for first, and Coach Frank Furtado won the coin flip for the top award. In other invitational tournaments the Falcons were third .at University of British Columbia and ninth at the University of Washington. They won 14 of 20 dual matches. The intramural program of sports at SPC involved over 400 students this year. The program is de- signed to provide opportunity for participation in sports activities, to develop skills and interest in one or more activities, to form new friendships, and to deal with the problem of leisure time. Volleyball and football were the fall quarter sports. Upper 3 led the women's division of volleyball, while Hill 4B won the men's division. Hill 4 won the men's football competition. Winners of the basketball competition during the winter quarter were women's off-campus and men's off-campus. First place in the bowling competition went to Byron Wilkes. Spring quarter sports were men's softball, co-ed badminton, and an all-school track meet. Student intramural coordinators were Randi Arch- er and Mike Yoderg the faculty advisor was Mrs. Inga-Lisa Franzon.
