Aa.. A -: ,J - Opemizbn Outreach Young people reaching young people. This is one of the main goals of SPC's missionary project, Operation Out- reach. Traditionally each summer the student body raises the money to send one of its members to some foreign mission Held. l-lovvever, Dr. Robert Smith, the Spiritual Emphasis VVeek speaker of last spring, initiated the idea of sending all five applicants for the project. His suggestion met with the enthusiastic approval of the student body, with the result that last summer Hve young men were sent to Venezuela to work with the Evangelisrn-in- Depth program. Assisting in a united evangelistic crusade in the western city of Valera was first on the schedule for the SPC representatives. Later they traveled east to the cities of Barcelona and Caripe to aid in a high-school-age youth camp. Next came a series of meetings in the area surrounding Maracay, where they worked with local leaders in plaza meetingsf' Visits to prisons and military installations followed. The conclusion of their visit came in the National Youth Congress at Caracas. SPC can be justly proud of these Five men. Jonas Gonzalez, the National Advisor for Evangelism-in-Depth in Venezuela Wrote of them: These men made a profound cultural and spiritual impact wherever they Went .... They identified themselves with the people in a commendable Way and easily gained the friendship and appreciation of young and old alike.
