We began learning techniques we never knew existed. Things did not always come out as they were originally envisioned. Countless frustrations were confronted at each deadline. Ideas had to be translated and comprised, defined and refined. Our greatest enemy was time; a year is very short. One of our major problems was squeezing Seaside Highs' events into 134 pages. The answer it seemed did not lie in displaying pages of students lined up on bleachers, grinning mechanically into the camera. This does not represent life and spirit of students. Thus, we have attempted to capture the candid concept of people in action the way you see them and know them. We are finished at last. It is no longer our book alone, although the staff's feelings of ownership lingers. The memories are yours to keep. 4 From left to right Tana Lamont. Tim Simnitt. Jodi Underhill. Tori Holmes. They also thought signing each other's annuals brought them closer together. Many people liked the pictures that were on sale and hoped pictures would be on sale the next year. The comment given by most peo- ple was they liked the color section in the annual and hoped it would have color again next year. For the most part, everyone enjoyed the annual signing and felt the annual covered everything. 5 Frosh Initiation Week Freshman Initiation Week went over well this year Many activities were provided lor the incoming frosh. including the traditional singing of the school songs and the scrubbing of the seal. They did this because of their hard work and all-around hustle. The Gulls this year had a unique team made up of short, quick guards and a tall front line. They proved to have the winning combination which is shown through their record. The main core of the Gulls line-up was made up of seniors with a few juniors willing to give it all for the team. One of the biggest games this year was against Astoria in the first round for first place in the Cowapa League. The Gulls came out on top and went on to finish as League Champions. The group had many activities during the year, including a three day outing to Camp Kiwanilong. a trip to Ellens- burg for an O.W.U. Festival and they produced two shows, a Cabaret and a talent show. The Choir at Seaside High has performed for the commu- nity many times with great success. The choir ventured to the Lloyd Cen- ter and also performed at the Cowapa League Festival in Clats- kanie. They work well together and it shows with each performance. Our Ensembles class is another choir class with a lot of talent. Although it only runs one trimester, (winter), its members give many solo as well as group perfor- mances. Many hours of hard work and dedication by each of the members and the director. Mrs. King, pro- vide these students with the ability to sing and perform exceptionally well. This was Mrs. King's 10th and final year at S.H.S. She leaves us with a legacy of memories. Our best wishes for the future 70 Ever drive 180 miles with 29 restless musicians? It’s not an easy task, but neither is winning the first place OSAA pep band award at the state AA basketball tournament in Eugene. Our band placed first out of a possible 15 schools. Throughout the year the band performed at many school functions. Among these were pep assemblies, football and basket- ball games and graduation. They also performed in several con- certs with the choir at the high school cafetorium Mr Hogsett commented great group of kids, had a lot of fun working with them .
