7 CROSS COUNTRY Over The River And Through The Woods Eight upperclassmen runners braved rugged terrain, rainy climates and traveled to ten league meets while rep- resenting the 1st, Cross Country Team form Seaside High School. The newly established team, coached by Coleman Beghtol were undefeated in dual meets, Getting lost in the Crown Mainlines and being passed by the smiling coach riding high in a comfortable truck, were some of the highlights fo the year as the dedicated men conditioned by running their nightly five to ten miles. Jim Beck did exceptionally well placing 5th, in District and now holds the schools record for the 2 1 2 mile at 12:28; other runners were: Ted Ames, Bruce Fitzpatrict, Tony Harrison, Paul © Montgomery, Rod Pearsall, Brett Pollock, and Ed Strom,

POWDER PUFF FOOTBALL Seniors Restore “Puffer” Tradition The ever famous Girls' Powder Puff Flag Football Game was brought back to Seaside's history at 8:00 on October the 2lst. by the mighty Seniors of 73! After weeks of rough and tough practicing, our brave girls blessed their magical tennies, while our ever popular men abandoned their masculine clothes for funky, groovy threads from out of the past. The RED TEAM consisting of the SENIORS and Freshman, chose to overpower the thrilling and suspensful game by beating their competitors, the whites by a hair-raising score of 8 to 6,” Upper Left: The Sensous Senior Cheerleaders lead their Red t to vi ! ; eam on to victory ; — ‘of Hey big boy whatcha doing after the game?

FOREIGN EXCHANGE “Felix, The Philippine FF Seagull.” Felix Ilagen Jr., Seasides' 1973 Rotary Foriegn Exchange Student, came to Seaside High School from Manila, Philippines. Prior to his arrival, Felix attended a large, private boys' school which omitted the 7th. and 8th. grade. Felix has played an active roll both accedemically and athletically. He was the Varsity Football and Track manager, the Senior Class Vice President and an honorary honor cord graduate, Felix enjoys sports, riding his ten speed, playing the guitar and singing. He displayed his musical talents by performing at the State Rotary Convention at the Civic Center. Felix someday hopes to become a journalist, possibly extending his American visa. 3: - So 2 bal
