Senior Class History In September, 1947, Leora Watson, Charles Hasley, Susan Gooch, Dennis Watson, Hedy Smith, Peggy Mayne, Sandra Sarver, Sandra McDowell, Glen Ray Haynes, Judy Stone, and Albert Lemke started to school in Searsboro. In second grade, we lost Dennis Watson, and HedySmith. We gained Linda Lou Pinkerton and Gerald Brignon. At the opening of third grade, we lost Linda Lou Pinkerton and gained Larry Moore and Jack Meldrem. In fourth grade, we gained Susan Gray and lost Jack Meldrem. In fifth grade, Gerald King and Richard Brignon came. Proceeding on to sixth grade, we gained Judy Stuart and Carol Johnson. At the beginning of seventh grade, we lost Carol Johnson and Judy Stuart, and gained Phyllis Leff. In eighth grade, we gained Betty Dillon and Connie Grimm. As freshmen, we found Larry Moore, Gerald Brignon, Susan Gray, Sandra McDowell, and Phyllis Leff missing from our class. During our sophomore year, we never gained nor lost anyone. In our junior year, we lost Gerald King. Now in our senior and last year in school, our class consists of eight members, four who started together and went through all twelve grades. Those four are Peggy Mayne, Chuck Hasley, Susan Gooch, and Leora Watson. The others are Richard Brignon, Betty Dillon, Connie Grimm, and Sandra Sarver. Senior Class Prophecy The Juniors of 1959 left for an African Safari. We left by plane to Africa and crashed in the jungle. One of the juniors was in a state of shock from the crash. So we went on a little further to a trading post, and there to our surprise we met Connie Grimm. We hired her as our guide. She said that she would take us to a doctor. When we arrived at the doctor's hut, we suddenly realized that it was a witch doctor. As he came out of his little hut singing OU EE OU AH AH TING TANG WADDA WADDA BING BANG, it was enough right there to shock our classmate back to reality. After further conversation with the witch doctor we recognizedhim as Richard Brignon. We asked Connie to take us on to the unexplored jungles of Africa. There, we ran into the head- hunter of the Gitchie Gumie Tribe. They took us prisoners and threw us all in a hut. About two hours later when the chief and his wife came to look us over we were happy to see that these ferocious headhunters were Peggy and Dale Dunsbergen. We asked Peggy and Dale why they chose such a life as this. They replied that they were just too bored with the ordinary routines of living. Since they were glad to see us, they offered us further guidance into the jungles. We then encountered a herd of elephants that were being chased by none other than Leora Watson, the famous African elephant hunter. While we were camped that night about five miles from a city, we decided to listen to our radio, A familiar voice was singing Ape Call. We listened after the song was over, and the announcer said that the singer was Susan Gooch, the Rock and Roll Queen of Africa. We were starting toward the Congo River to see the natives. While we were in the deep, dark jungle we heard a terrifying scream. As we stood there in a huddle, our knees shaldng, our teeth chattering, and our eyes bulgingg we were relieved JE to see a person flying out of the air with a monkey on her back. As we stared at her, we recognized her as Sheena of the Jungle, otherwise known as Sandra Sarver. That night we made camp at the bottom of the highest mountain in Africa, Kilamanjaro. We had just settled down when we heard a hearty greeting from out of the darkness. We asked who was there, and he replied that he was Chuck Hasley. We found out that he was the only man that ever climbed Kilamanjaro. We were now at the end of our journey at the bridge of the Congo River. As we were crossing the bridge we noticed a village of natives and thought we saw a white woman. Upon nearing the village, we recognized her as Betty Dillon who was living a domestic life among the natives. After this long and interesting journey we boarded a ship back to the United States. We were glad to get back to civilization again. ' v. ie, - N' me Me, .L I 2 4 PM 9- A 2 Ha M. Y ll AFR Q wang f K ,If IKL 3 i e , ,, x , Aw fm. - if as 14' ' N fig 1 T? 9.
