As I stood waltlng to go aboard the plane I saw the pilot and co-pilot come up there, who should the pilot be but Don Beaderstadt from old Searsboro High Class of '52. Arrlvlng at my destlnatlonln New York to judge this beauty contest who was to be one of the other judges but Bob Gause. He says that he really enjoys his work. After this contest I was to stay ln the Waldorf Astoria Hotel over-night. I bought a newspaper and went on up to my room. Readlng the paper I saw a Lovelorn column and read lt. She was giving advice for girls to be true to their boyfriends. This was written by a Mlss Newport. I wondered lf this could be Gayle Newport from Searsboro. After some lnvestlgationl found that lt was., Later that evenlng I turned on the television set to flnd a comedian show on. They were two girls. I thought I recognized them, but then they were announced. 'I'hey were Mrs. Arendt and Mrs. Beaderstadt, the former Miss Smith and Miss Evans from the Searsboro Class of '52. Next on television was the wrestllng matches of Saturday night. Thls was a woman's match. Wanda Garwood vs Nell Stewart. It was a real thrlll. Then something popped into my head. I thought it could be Wanda Baker from Searsboro Hlgh SchooL Yes, lt was. I finally recognized. Some little fighter she ls. The next evening I decided I would go to the Metropolitan Opera. The star of the evening was Donna Baker. What a surprise lt was to see her. Some change slnce high school days. I leave ln the morning to go to Callfornla to see one of these entertainers who were entertaining at this army base. After a good nlght's sleep I was ready to go. When the bell hop ca.rne for my suitcases I saw lt was one of the classmates from Searsboro, Jerry Tish. He was very friendly and was very glad to see me. My plane trlp out there was very pleasant. When the stewardess came to serve my meal, I thought she looked very familiar and she recognized me too. It was Bessie Schmidt. No wonder people like to travel by plane. Arriving at the army base I saw this entertainer -- such a sweet looking fwoman, and guess who lt was -- Wanda Sarver, or at least I thought so until I talked to her and found out it was now Mrs. John Callahan. Sgt. John Callahan was stationed here at Camp Roberts. On my way back to the hotel I saw a sign: V. C. Roger Watson. I stopped to see lf lt is the Roger Watson who graduated ln '52, and sure enough lt was. We talked in his study with his wife, five sons, and himself. To our surprise his wife was Shirley Lowry, also of the Class of '52. 33 Prophecy: On my way home I saw a sign advertising a rodeo. Since I had never seen a real rodeo. I decided to stop over and see it. During the act of Bronc Busting the name Ed Moore came over the loud speaker announcing him as the favored rider. He was named champion bronc buster and got to crown the rodeo queen who is picked for her ability to ride. The face of the girl looked familiar so I decided to go closer. It was Anna Belle Massengale. I then recognized the bronc buster who was also a '52 graduate of the Dear Old Searsboro High School. After the rodeo Ed told us Duane Phillips another graduate ot' Class of '52, was a owner of the famous Phillips English Setter Kennels. As I came through Phoenix I looked out the window to see, to my surprise a flag pole sitter. He was to sit there for 3 months. As I passed on by I saw the name of the sitter on a sign. Gene Butch the Sitter Meredith. I communicated with him by short wave radio and found he was to set there to earn one million dollars. On this trip we found out some of these queer Class of '52 really do strange things. We must go on back home for a rest after a very tiring and STRENUOUS trip. 34 Broke the camera Determination? ? ? ? Tm'-he0!!!! peek-a-boo I'm tired!
