-4'ez 4 .look geek Oaez can eww CHAPTER I In 1951 there were seventy-four of us new Vikings, who hadn't quite found our sea legs yet. To help us along we elected Wanda Williams, presidentg Joe Miller, vice -presidentg Paul Lucas, secretary, and Janet Thomas, treasurer. We had our freshman party on a spooky Halloween night with square dancing and lots of fun for everyone. With Miss Cox and Mr. Robinson as sponsors, we ended our first eventful year at Seaman with a picnic at Gage Park. CHAPTER II Back again! We were the biggest class in school with eighty-five sophomores. Anticipating more fun and progress, we chose Dick Currie, president: Duane Niemackl, vice-presidentg Ronna Means, secretaryg and Donna Spangler, treas- urer. We sponsored an all -school Sock-hop that was enjoyed by everyone including our sponsors, Mr. Frederick and Mr. Rorabaugh. Our picnic at Lake Shawnee concluded another successful year. CHAPTER HI Upperclassmenl President Carolyn Chandler, Vice -president Paul Lucas, Secretary Pat Brady, and Treasurer Kath- leen Falley led us Juniors, sixty-nine in all, through the year. Incorporating fun and work, we presented the Junior-Senior Prom at the Hotel Jayhawk in honor of the Seniors. Our sponsors, Mrs. Gooch and Mr. Wahl, helped us in attaining a very satisfying year. Even the misty weather didn't dampen our spirits at the annual class picnic at Gage Park. CHAPTER IV Seniors at lastl With fancy-freeness we stepped into our final year only to discover that more hard work confronted us. Our officers, Edith MacArthur, presidentg Martha Nash, vice -presidentg Kathleen Falley, secretaryg and Donna Spang- ler, treasurer, led our class of fifty-eight in '55, After spending a hilarious day of boating and picnicking on our Play Day at Lake Wabaunsee, none of us could deny that we were all wet. November brought us a new school and we were to be the first class to graduate from it. The second semester was filled with busy events. We received our class rings fthe best ever lj, were measured for caps and gowns fwhite, no lesslj, and ordered our announcements tengraved and alllj. Our sponsors, Mr. Frederick and Miss Wilson gave us a helping hand. Our talent and determined effort were put to use in the work on the Clipper and the yearbook. In preparation for the htture, many of us went to College Day and took college and business tests. 'I'he Junior -Senior Prom at the Hotel Jayhawk was an evening we will never forget. Thank you, Juniors! Senior Shake-up, sponsored by Topeka High, put us all in the Hawaiian mood. Our last-day-of-school picnic at Lake Shawnee added to the fun. At Baccalaureate and Commencement, we solemnly and sentimentally realized that our days at Seaman were over. The Commencement Dance in the gymnasium completed a perfect year. As the last chapter of our high school life closed, only memories dear to all of us remain.
