It makes the laws by which the school is conducted. It appropriates money for the upkeep of the school and sanctions all the activities of the student body. The three members of the board are Mr. Kelsey, Mr. Betts, and Mr. Rinner. Mr. Kelsey is president of the school board and has been a member for four years. Mr. Betts has been treasurer for sixteen years. Mr. Rinner has served as clerk of the board for six years. The members of the board give their time and abilities to straighten out numerous problems which confront the school and receive no pay but the satisfaction of serving. The board members have always been ready to give the students all the facilities necessary for better work and to cooperate with them in every way. Bon nn ' ev., ' Myron S. In their wine colored robes, the chorus of fifty well-trained voices, under the direction of Miss Lois Jean Hirschler, gave an inspiring program. The traditional Christmas story was read by Dean Rinner. Mark Lowe told the stories of familiar carols, with the humming choir as background. On Deo- ember 19, Miss Hirsohler took a small group of chorus members to Winter General Hospital, where they sang Christmas Carols in the wards. The chorus also sings for sohool activities, assemblies, plays, andithe Evenings of Music and Drama. mIXED Cuonus Top Row Jera Basye Virginia Woodbury, Virginia Peterson, Margaret Thoms, Jaok Humphries Don Crooks, VGFHOH Soholes Bob Quant, Dean Rinner Claude Finson, Galen Geiser, Dorothy Dean Betsy Zefergahn Jordan, Ethel Coohran, lnelma Cochran, Mary Harris, Benny Lawhun, Noel Taylor Ronnie Jahn Second Row Annabelle Hibbert, Wilma Dunlap, Beulah Gideon, Betty Thoman Lois Spangler, Jean Kirkham, Jean Bogle Annabelle Smith, Wilma Smith, Robert Thoman, Alan Schrimsher First Row Betty Ph1fer,Elou1se Kelly' Donna Bowers, Martha Miller, Juanita Pinson Shirley Newell Dona Kulp Jean Rae, Viva Taylor Patricia Catron 29 z . , . . . . . . X aa v -F.-F.-R The 1944-45 F.F.A., with a total of forty-one members, had one of the largest memberships it has had since its organization in 1931. The Vocational Agriculture classes collected a total of one hundred ten sacks of milk weedqgods which is used in making life-saving jackets for the armed forces. A total of two hundred student hours was necessary to collect this material. A wagon box, a barrel-type seed treater and feed mixer were made by the boys. It has become a tradition of the Seaman Chapter of F.F.A. to give a Christmas basket to some needy family. This year the members decid- ed to give two such baskets. Again this year, the Vocational Agriculture Machine Shop has been open three nights each week for farmers who needed the use of the equipment for repairing farm machinery. Many farm machines and pieces of equipment have been repaired by farmers who attended this night school. The expenses for this work are paid by the Federal Government.
