CLASS PROPHECY On the day of May 23, I965, the editor of the Sea- grove Daily, Maxton McNeill assigned me, Rebecca Thompson, his reporter, to find the location and the vocation of the members of the class of Se-Hi of l955. The job was naturally hard, for so many had gone dif- ferent ways, but I finally found that: Betty Baker is a dramatics teacher for the Chapel Hill Playmakers. She writes plays during her spare time. lf you have been to Appalachian College you will meet the new dean, none other than Peggy Brittain. She is also head of the English Department. Raiford Brown is the owner of the largest beauty salon in New York City. He is one of his best customers. Winfred Brown is directing the Firestone Orchestra and he is playing a iew's harp during his spare time. Mae Caudill is a wonderful housekeeper. l don't see how she does it with so many children running around. Elsie Cole is now working in the Chemical labora- tory in Seagrove. She is also married and is living in a marble house, which she designed herself. Carroll Comer is a Greyhound bus driver and is managing a big cattle ranch at Erect Plantation. lrma Jean Cox is the president of the largest bank in Chicago. Kermit Craven is head of a Hardware Company at Brower. He says that he's not selling rolling pins anymore but he had a large supply of can openers for brides. Wesley Freeman is going to defend his title, Cham- pion of the World, in Madison Square Garden this spring. Ernest Gatlin is test driving the new Mercurys in the Pan American World Race. Garland Hall is now drawing for the All-American Comedy Strip Company. All that he had to do is look into a mirror and draw what he sees. Norma Hamilton has finally succeeded in being president of the United States. April's issue of the life magazine disappeared fast on the newsstand, but no wonder, our own Rebecca Hedgepeth was on the cover. She is a model for the New York Designers. Who is the new dentist in town? She is none other than Rozine Hurley. Everyone is buying tickets for the famous All- American Wrestling Match, featuring champion, .limmy Kemp, and the famous Swedish Angel. l'm assured that this will be a good match. Estelle Kennedy, as you know, attended Wake Forest College. She is on the faculty now. Harold Kizer is a multi-millionaire chicken raiser and will probably someday surprise the entire world of chickens. Shelby Luck is the head nurse at Duke Hospital She hasn't lost a patient. Horace Luther is now a professor in Economics He is studying for a higher degree. Fred Marsh is driving for Jack COChrian's World Hell Drivers. He is one of the top men in this field. Shirley Presnell is one of Greensboro's best Beauty Experts. Janice Russell is going to Hollywood and she will give other actresses competition. She will be a great success in the new fill-ovision. Bryce Russell is one of the top scientists of today lt is said that he is a wizard and can split an atom to the Nth degree. Donald Smith will replace Mr. Parker as agricul ture teacher at Seagrove High School. He plans to in crease the yield per acre of tobacco in Randolph County. Nancy Spencer is ci professional wrestler and .ludo teacher at Seagrove High School. She is really getting the girls in shape. Harold Thompson is now pitching baseball in the maior leagues. He was voted top pitcher for the past year. Everett Walker is driving in the hot-rod race across the Nevada flats.
