C155 p 0l0AQCy Seagrove, North Carolina July 4, l959 Dear Mr. Dewar: Today as I thumbed through the pages of an old Se Hi published ten years ago, I noticed a picture of you along with the members of the Senior Class. Seeing it, I remembered that you were once our prin- cipal and I thought perhaps you would like to know what had become of the class of '49, We used to tease Faydean so much about her hope chest. Well, all those things she was making while in high school are coming in handy now for her and Arden's new home. Paige is a professor at Elon College teaching along with her future husband lwe hopel, Jimmie. Well, it looks as though the class of '49 has a stenographer in the group. Ruby Mae is making loads of money working for the Ferman Cole lndustry. Oh, did you see June Morris' picture in the paper for getting on the All-American Basketball Team? He's really quite a player. Seagrove is getting to be quite a place now. lt has grown so much that it is combined with Asheboro and Ulah. This makes Ralph have more territory for his buses to run, since he has organized a New 'Round About Town Bus Unit. Bryce, who was always tearing things apart when we were in high school, has finally learned the puzzle of putting them back together and is employed by Ralph. Do you remember the town below Seagrove called Robbins, where we got several ads to go in the annual? They have a drug store, and it really has been pros- pering lately since the pharmacist's new wife took over the management. Most of you know her, Mrs. D. R. Nall, the former Blanche Auman. And have you noticed, Mr. Dewar, there's a beauti- ful new farm house with a green lawn near Erect? The sign in front of the house reads Dickinson and Brown Chicken Farm. Cruess who was sitting there on the porch the other .day-Helen Dickinson and Arlie Brownl Arlie has finally built that chicken farm that he dreamed about for Helen and him. Fairie is doing very well working in the new hospital at Seagrove as head supervisor to that good looking new doctor. We've heard that red-headed girls always make the best nurses, so Cloyce Lane has gone into the right business. You probably already know that Rev. Henry Ritter and his recent bride have moved into the parsonage at Antioch Church, where he got his start, acting as Sunday School Superintendent when he graduated with us. It seems as if our class believes in nursing, we overlooked the fact that we have another nurse in the group, Martha. Fairie and Cloyce Lane are going to have a little competition from her. Garland Cole, the new owner of the White House Grill, has moved it near Seagrove and changed the name to Paradise Inn. Margie has finally learned to cook and wash dishes, but wait a minuteg we had better ask Johnny before we say she can cook. A new beauty salon has been opened, called The Make-You-Pretty Salon, and guess who the owner is -Marie Hogan. Richard Graves has taken up Red Skelton's habits, going from house to house selling Fuller Brushes. By the way, did you know the local airport has a new hostess, Thelma? Her destination is the pilot's cabin to see that good looking pilot, Mac. The President heard about Lula Mae's good work and sent her a telegram from Washington, asking her to be his private secretary. She hasn't accepted yet. Recil has taken over his father's old job as post- master at Seagrove. Mr. Dewar, if you are ever around Seagrove, drop in to see any of the class. We would be very happy to see you. Cordially, Prophetess: Evelyn King Prophet: Recil Kearns P.S. Do you remember how we used to tease Evelyn about her boy friends? She is still using her charm to dazzle all the young men in her path, hoping one day to meet her one and only. Recil
