unior Cfariri Wa, VUE SHOOK THE FAMILY TREE The class of '58 presented We Shook the Family Tree on March 8, 1957, in the Central School Audi- torium. Miss Betty Lou Small was the director, and Marianna Sherman was the student director. Hildegarde Dolson, portrayed by Carol Baker, was a slim blond girl of sixteen or seventeen. Mrs. Dolson, her mother, was played by Suzie Wilkinson. Mike McLaughlin played Mr. Dolson, the father. Hilde- garde's sister, Sally, was played by Billie Hartman. Bob and jimmy, Hildegarde's two brothers, who were portrayed by Bill Blair and jimmy Litchford re- spectively, were often in cahoots when mischief was afoot. ' Paige, played by Joyce Pepper, was a little girl ap- proximately six years old, who lived down the street and liked to play postman. Sandra Fleetwood por- trayed Ellie May, an attractive girl of Bob's age. jill, played by Kay Ellis, was slightly younger and Ellie May's faithful satellite. Freddie, who was Hilde- garde's age, was played by Ronnie Hastings. His mother, who, made him wear knickers, was played by Dottie Fleetwood, and Jon Griffith played Mr. Shermer, Freddie's father. After a successful production the cast enjoyed a party given by Carol Baker and Betty Lee Hall at the Parish House. Page l9

The Senior Class Play, The Robe, was presented on December 6th and Sth. Being the first class play to run two nights, The Robe, was a most out- standing play. Mr. Arnold, our faculty director, went all out for it, and was well assisted by the entire class. Concerning the play, Dr. Madden writes, Dear Mr. Arnold: I would like to offer my congratulations to you and the members of the cast for the splendid production which you presented this past week. The members of the senior class have set a goal for our future classes to reach, and I believe that this is probably the most significant production we have ever had presented in Seaford. In trying to give credit to everyone, it is a difficult task, for everyone did a very fine job. The scenery, the costuming, the make-up, and the staging are as equally deserving of credit as the performers them- selves. I did not forget either the business manager in selling tickets for two performances which has never been accomplished before. Never have we been able to involve as many people in a production of this kind and this is worthy of special comment in itself. I know this play will stand out as one of the high lights of high school life for all members of the class of 1958. Our Senior Class play was the most successful thing we tried during our entire high school years, and it drew our class closer together. On February 15, a Valentine party was held for our class at the Country Club. This memorable event was given by our parents to whom we are very thankful. During the same month, Evelyn Lofland came in second in the State DAR Contest. Suzie Wilkinson was chosen local Betty Crocker Homemaker. In May we had our Final Awards Assembly and, of course, the final exams. Next came Senior Week. During this week, we went on our annual Class Pic- nic, and also we practiced for Baccalaureate and Commencement Services. Our class had come a long way in four years, and then at last Commencement Dayhlune 10, 1958, arrived! Many of us received our diplomas with a tear in our eye, for we were leaving our friends to go out into the cold, cruel world, never again to be a part of S.H.S. But we know that S.H.S. will always be a part of us, and many times in the years to come, our memories will carry us back to Seaford High School, our immortal Alma Mater.
